Animals of Winter Ranch
Animals living on a ranch require special care and attention in the midst of winter. We need to make sure they stay dry, warm, watered, well fed and exercised.
During this camp we journey to local farms to actually meet and learn about different animals. We focus on how to tend to them when the cold weather sets in.
We also explore how wild animals surrounding the farm watch after themselves during winter. We do this by following the tracks and trails of the deer, raccoon, fox and other forest residents.
Plus, we look to our feathered friends and their winter care by making pine cone bird feeders. We also practice farm craft while weaving horsehair bracelets.
