Learn wilderness survival skills while training with the experts of Trackers Earth. Experienced instructors guide you through hands-on activities in outdoor lore and ancients skills. Focusing on shelter, water, fire and food, this course helps you develop safety in the out of doors and a deeper connection with the natural world.
Wilderness survival is an awareness that not only keeps you alive, it allows you thrive and find a deeper connection to the natural world. Primitive technology and traditional skills takes this even further, exploring an ancient way of relating to the land.
Beyond our core programs we also offer speciality classes (see below) in traditional arts such as flintknapping and bowmaking.
Core Programs for Wilderness Survival & Primitive Skills
Wilderness Survival & Outdoor Basics This is 7-hour course serves as inspiration and introduction into the world of Wilderness Survival and Primitive Skills. It teaches the basic skills required for our Pathfinder Certificaiton and Rangers Guild: Survival Level 1 and beyond.
9-month Immersion Join us 1-weekend a month for 9-months and immerse yourself in learning survival and primitive skills. This program gives you thorough training in the fundamentals along with bridging into more advanced arts of wilderness living.
Shelter & Firemaking Overnight Shelter and firemaking are among two of the most important skills in a wilderness survival and primitive living situation. In this weekend overnight we cover each topic in great detail through expert advice and hands-on learning.
Specialty for Wilderness Survival & Primitive Skills...
Bow Making Basics This course covers crafting your own bow out of locally harvested materials and how to hew wood with simple blades and knives.
Hide Tanning Basics This 2-days teaches you the ancient art of turning rawhide into soft leather that can be crafted into clothing, tools and other DIY projects.
Rangers Guild: Survival Level 1
This course is both in-depth and intensive. Students are given core tools they need to begin the survival skills components for our Pathfinder Certification and Ranger Guild: Survival Level 1 and higher as part of their own ongoing independent study.
