Position #1 - We Need Driver Educators

We seek licensed Commercial Drivers who also possess the interest to drive to awesome wilderness locations and help teach outdoor skills for our Portland summer camps.

Required experience:

  • Previous educational experience, preferably outdoor education. Able work with a group of children autonomously.
  • CDL-Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements (held 2 years or longer).
  • Clean driving record and experience driving full-size buses with air brakes.
  • Average workday: 8 hours, 5 days per week

Compensation $17 per hour

Position #2 - We Need Drivers Only

We also have on call positions for qualified seasonal, full-time staff to drive a variety of commercial vehicles and full-size 84-passenger school buses.

Required experience:

  • CDL-Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements (held 2 years or longer).
  • Clean driving record and experience driving full-size buses with air brakes.
  • Average workday: 3-6 hours, split shift, 2-5 days a week

Compensation $17 per hour

Driver responsibilities:

  • Staying focused and avoiding distractions.
  • Positive interaction with campers & educational staff.
  • Safe Transport of children.
  • Vehicle pre-trip and reporting to maintenance.

Educator responsibilities:

  • Ensures safety of program participants.
  • Positive communication with parents, staff and participants.
  • Attend appropriate staff training.
  • Be available for work Monday - Friday during summer.
  • Implement curriculum.
  • Available June 15 - August 24, 2020

Required Experience, Attributes & Physical Demands

Additional Driver Requirements
 Maintain high professional standards

Punctual and timely for all scheduled shifts
Ability to think on your feet, be creative, and care for the safety of children even in challenging situations
Pre-employment checks: criminal background, reference, requirements in MVR Policy, Alcohol/Drug Test

Additional Educator Requirements
Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine Auto-Injector certified (or ability to complete before position begins)
CPR/First Aid certified (or ability to complete before position begins)


Food handlers certified (or ability to complete before position begins)

State fishing license (if working with programs that fish)
Ability to continuously stand, hike backcountry terrain on and off-trail, bend, squat, climb stairs/hills, lift up to 50 lbs
