Leadership, Outdoor Skills & Connections

Become a Tracker! Join our weekly homeschool program.

Trackers Earth offers one of the most innovative outdoor homeschool programs in El Cerrito and Oakland. Here kids make friends while adventuring with expert Trackers Guides. In the forest, train in archery and wilderness survival. Along the waterways, embark on fishing adventures. In the fields learn about wild plants and make nature and folk crafts.

Leadership Training

Become a Leader-in-Training. As you delve into the Trackers Skills of your choice, our top Guides mentor you in outdoor leadership and in contributing to our broader learning community. Select the Leader-in-Training Apprenticeship that interests you:

Outdoor Homeschool LIT: Learn Trackers Skills while helping inspire and connect with younger homeschoolers. Train in archery and wilderness survival, care for farm animals, go fishing and boating, and delve into Trackers Lore as a leader for the next generation.

Realms Homeschool LIT: Join our world of elves and wizards as a Realms Master-in-Training. Help create the story for our Realms LARP. Learn outdoor skills to Level Up both in the game and in nature skills. Connect with younger campers while contributing to the Realms community.

Leadership Skills

Leaders-in-Training (LITs) step up within the Trackers community, gaining hands-on leadership experience while learning from mentors and guides. They connect with and inspire younger Trackers under supervision, passing on knowledge from one generation to the next. This blend of learning and leadership sharpens their skills and prepares them to be future mentors.

Bonus Summer Camps

Leader-in-Training Apprentices receive four free weeks of optional Leader-in-Training Summer Day Camps with their year’s tuition.

Expectations

LITs inspire and connect with younger Apprentices in supervised settings. They must always be kind, thoughtful, and adhere to our code of care. Meeting these expectations ensures success in the program and future LIT opportunities. If expectations are not met, participation will be reassessed to maintain a positive environment for all.

Our Team

Experienced Trackers Mentors lead this program. Each day, they help students build deeper connections with each other, their community, and nature.

  • Expertise in mentoring and Trackers skills.
  • Low student-to-guide ratio facilitating personal, team-based learning.
  • Background checked with First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Trained in outdoor safety and the Trackers Earth curriculum.

Our Place

We journey from Trackers HQ to wilderness locations by buses and vans with trained drivers. Our destinations include Trackers' private 351-acre wildlife park, our 100-acre farm and forest, other wilderness sites. When the weather calls for it, we might choose to stay closer to home, learning hands-on folk crafts in our art studios and visiting nearby nature parks.
