Blacksmithing Intensive 8-month program, 1 weekend a month
Prerequisite: none - Immerse yourself in the craft and folklore of blacksmithing 1-weekend a month. Apprentice by the forge with our expert mentors. Learn shop safety and the craft of bending metal with fire, hammer and anvil. Learn more
Blacksmithing Basics Single day (9 AM - 4 PM) or 4-evenings (6:30 PM - 8:30 PM) options.
Prerequisite: none - We train specific techniques of working metal: taper, drawing, scrolling, twisting, splitting and more. Projects begin with with the classic S-hook and move on from there. Proper hammer strokes, stance, forge etiquette, and safety are emphasized during all blacksmithing classes.
Bladesmith / Knife Making 2-day (9 AM - 4 PM each day)
Prerequisite: Blacksmithing Basics - This 2-day workshop guides you through the knife making process resulting in a knife worth carrying. We address blade forming, you forge yours while we also cover the stock removal method. From there, we move onto edging, tempering, forming a tang, and crafting a handle.
OPEN Forge Evenings (6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Thursdays)
Prerequisite: Blacksmithing Basics - Our OPEN Forge is available to prior students - Grade 5 to Adult on Thursdays. You use our blacksmithing workshop for your own projects.
