OPEN Forge
Blacksmithing Community & Lab

Come use our forges and anvils. Work on your own projects.

Our OPEN Forge is available to prior blacksmithing students - Ages 16 to Adult on Friday evenings. You use our blacksmithing workshop for your own projects. This program requires the prerequisite of Blacksmithing Basics or Immersion.

What We Teach

Our open forge sessions provide students with the opportunity to utilize the forge equipment and have access to limited materials for working on their own personal projects or honing newly acquired skills from our blacksmithing classes. During open forge we can build a blacksmith community of like-minded individuals who can connect, share tips, exchange ideas, and forge friendships. Whether you're a seasoned blacksmith or just starting out, join us in our open forge sessions. See details below before registering.

This program takes place at our private indoor blacksmithing shop called the Annex. This state-of-the-art facility is one of the largest teaching blacksmithing shops in Oregon. All materials, forge time, and instruction is provided.

OPEN Forge is only available at the dates below. There is no Open Forge the weekdays or weekends proceeding or following holidays: Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Spring Break, Easter, Memorial Day, and 4th of July.

Interested in a long-term program? Check out our 9-month Blacksmithing Immersion! From Fall to Spring, intensively train in a learning community during monthly weekends. Late enrollments welcomed.
