What Open Forge Is
Open Forge is shop time. You get the forges, the anvils, limited materials, and a few hours to work on your own projects or sharpen what you learned in class. It is also where Portland's blacksmiths find each other: trade tips, compare work, and forge a few friendships along with the steel. Whether you have been at it for years or finished Basics last month, pull up an anvil. See the details below before registering.
Open Forge runs at the Annex, our private indoor blacksmithing shop and one of the largest teaching forges in Oregon. Forge time, materials, and a Guide on the floor are all included.
Open Forge runs only on the dates listed below. There is no Open Forge on the weekdays or weekends preceding or following these holidays: Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Spring Break, Easter, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July.
Want to go deeper? The 9-month Blacksmithing Immersion trains intensively in a learning community one weekend a month from fall to spring. Late enrollments welcome.

Forge Fee: $20
Due to limited spots, each participants must pre-register.
Prerequisite: Blacksmith 101 or Blacksmith Immersion.
