At Trackers Skills Night, families and community members come together to practice real outdoor skills. Each evening features a hands-on skill share led by Trackers Guides—often with teens from our advanced programs stepping up to role model what they've learned.
Choose Your Trackers Guild
Skills Night is a community event sharing skills across our Four Guilds. Each month features a different focus:
Rangers Guild
Practice wilderness survival, forest craft, archery, stealth, stone and bone tools, firecraft, and other wilderness skills.
Mariners Guild
Hone skills of traversing, wayfinding, compass work, knots, casting, rigging a line, and seashore know-how.
Wilders Guild
Build skills of homesteading, woodcarving, sharpening, wild plants, botany, sewing, fiber arts, and more.
Artisans Guild
Connect with crafts like blacksmithing, ceramics, weaving, and storytelling that builds a learning community.
Community Connections
Trackers Skills Night is layered by design. It is welcoming for beginners and deep enough for serious students. Evenings often include live music and families frequently bringing seasonal or wild foods to share potluck-style. Alongside skill practice, these additional pathways are waiting to be discovered for those who are ready.
Goblin Market
Every Skills Night, the Scout Pit also becomes a Goblin Market. Kids and adults trade small handmade trinkets and found baubles. No money, no food, just fun for this imaginative barter market. Learn more about the Goblin Market →.
The Trackers Trail
Skills Night can be the starting point of the Trackers Trail—our progression of bandanas and badges that mark skill growth and development while introducing young Trackers to the path and invite those ready to go deeper into certifications.
What This Can Grow Into
Let's create a third space where Trackers Teams of 4–8 friends self-organize and meet regularly to practice skills. Organized by parents and supported by our advanced teen students, teams can train outdoors in field trips to Camp Roslyn.
Details & How-To
Trackers Skills Night is open to our community at the Scout Pit (Trackers SE Portland). You can RSVP below or just show up. Bring a labeled potluck dish if you'd like, or grab food from the carts around the corner.
