Photography Apprenticeship
Through our apprenticeships, expert Trackers Mentors guide youth and teens in learning at art studios. Our classes are designed for students from beginner to advanced levels. Thanks to our small class sizes, instructors can provide individual attention to each apprentice. Develop the following skills:
Equipment & Application Learn to use a variety of camera types, from phones and tablets to high-end cameras. Understand how to care for and maintain your photography kit.
Lighting & Composition Master the core principles of photography, including lighting, composition, and more. Delve into outdoor photography and the use of natural light, as well as studio lighting techniques.
Editing & Storytelling Venture outdoors and discover the wonders of Earth, from its wildlife to its natural landscapes. Explore urban environments to learn about photojournalism, architecture, and city wildlife. Dive into the details with macro photography! Learn how to tell compelling stories through digital editing.

Our Team
Our mentoring team includes our top Trackers staff featuring:
- Expertise in mentoring and Trackers skills.
- Low student-to-guide ratio facilitating personal, team-based learning.
- Background checked with First Aid & CPR certification.
- Trained in program safety and the Trackers Earth curriculum.
Our Place
Our Studio Apprenticeships take place at our Trackers Art Studios where apprentices can explore hands-on arts and crafts. Our locations feature ceramics, photography, woodworking, and blacksmithing studios.
How It Works
Our Studio Apprenticeships are school-year programs that teach Trackers Skills one weekend each month from Fall to Spring.
Studio Days: 9 total + Graduation Day
For Studio Apprenticeships you can choose from a Morning or Afternoon classes.
Morning 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Afternoon 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM
For flexibility, we provide several scheduling options—see below for dates.
Tuition
Choose your $55 deposit (non-refundable) to reserve your spot. The remaining tuition is divided into ten monthly payments of $78 beginning August 31. We follow-up after you register to create a payment plan.
Sibling Discount: Families enrolling two or more children receive a 5% discount on all monthly payments.
Need Financial Help? We offer scholarships ranging from 5% - 15%. Learn More or Apply.
