Learn to Ride – Bike, Pedal & Go!

Our Learn to Ride bike camp for grades K–1 builds confidence and connection with friends. Kids practice balance, braking, and pedaling through bike games and supervised rides to nearby Portland parks. Between riding, we play games, make crafts, share stories, and explore nearby nature. Expert Trackers Guides teach in small steps—glide first, then pedal—so young riders feel steady, safe, and proud on two wheels.

What You Do

Play, create, and pedal at your pace. Learn to Ride includes:

  • Fit a helmet and check a bike with a simple A-B-C safety routine
  • Build balance with gliding drills and fun movement games
  • Practice smooth starts, pedaling cadence, and controlled stops
  • Ride short, supervised routes to nearby outdoor areas
  • Make simple crafts inspired by bikes and outdoor adventures
  • Play cooperative games that build coordination and confidence
  • Learn hand signals, trail manners, and group-ride spacing
  • Relax with songs, stories, and creative breaks between rides
